Edik Ghabuzyan is a former Yerevan University Professor who has worked on creating Armenian computer fonts for many years. He has created fonts in OpenType, TrueType and PostScript formats and in 2004 (together with Avetick Mkrtchyan and Hayk Ghabuzyan) his Armenian Computer Fonts Album was published.
In one of his fonts was awarded the Best Font prize in HiArt Armenian Fonts competition; in 2005 his Vernatun and ArmTimesST fonts were awarded the main and the Titghosagir the first prize in Mashtots 1600 Electronic Fonts competition. In 2006 several of his fonts were awarded the main prizes in the Armenian Schoolbook Fonts competition, one of which – Brayford, was created with Carolyn Puzzovio. His cooperation with Carolyn began in 2005 and has continued since. He created Pomegranate Mariam font in 2006 with assistance from Carolyn and other collaborative projects are in progress.
Edik Ghabuzyan now works for the Armenian Ministry of Culture in the ‘National Book Chamber of Armenia’ as the head of the section of Saving and Creating Armenian Fonts.
